The Viewsonic vx2433wm is a great monitor for a great price. 24” HD Monitor with built-in speakers, 1080P Resolution, and some setting options.

The Built-in Speakers are actually very nice speakers for a monitor. Most monitors with built-in speakers are cheasy, the speakers are incredibly staticy and have a lot of feedback issue. But not on this monitor, the speakers play nice smooth audio, with no crackles in any audio format.

The 24” monitor is complete HD, and doesn’t lag at all when playing HD Movies, Videos, or Games. The size of the monitor itself give you the ability to compare documents side by side, or even working on art, 3D models, or programming can be done easily if you need to have references shots on one side and your piece of work on the other.

The only downside to this monitor is the fact that while the screen itself is 24” it can only use up to 23.6” viewable. Which means you do have a black border around your desktop besides just the monitor casing. It isn’t to annoying, but I would like to see more of the screen used.

Hello Everyone,

This week I’ve decided to start writing Reviews and Previews for different products again, you will start seeing them a few of them today.

Well as many may know I’m almost done with my two weeks off school. :( But I do have to look forward to the fact that I do graduate next summer. Yay! So what am I going to do with myself after Highschool? Well I was thinking  I was going to do what i’m best at, and thats continue working with computers, game design, and film production. Sure, sure Ill still go to college, have to decide on where, but il go none the less.  I am currently moving towards Majoring in Computer Science, and Minoring in Computer Engineering… If I can get both at one school.

Well so my room is just about done, ill post pictures of everything eventually…

Im currently working on getting “Project Unity”s website up and running, as well as submitting it for the Intel 2010 Level Up Game Concept Contest. Ill keep you all up to date on the progress of that….

Thats all for now Folks!

Alrightly folks, so last week I wrote a post about it being a wrap “Almost” for finishing my Junior Year of Highschool. Well Thursday was my last day for two weeks before I start my Sr. Year. Why am I starting so early? Because I still have a lot I need to get done before graduating. One of my goals in getting fit enough that I could pass the Marine Physical Fitness test… I have until June of next year to reach that goal…

Why the Marine Physical Fitness Test? Because at one time I did look at the military as a option and figured that if I could pass the Marines test, I could pass any of them. Now I really have no erg to go in the Military as I want to put as much of my focus on studies and getting into a good college, and graduating. I still havn’t picked a final college yet… I know I know… I’ve had ideas left and right but it’s not an easy choice you know….

Project Unity Update…..

Here is a small document I wrote up on how I want the gameplay story wise to go for Project Unity….

How will gameplay work?

“In Sarcrest there is no game over. Much like Newtons third law of Physics, “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” You will see that same concept in the game in the story/gameplay mode.

Example: If your in a hostage situation, you have a burglar with a gun holding a hostage with a gun to the hostages head. Your a police officer pointing your gun at the burglar, the burglar yells out “Put your gun down or I’ll shoot!” You have a couple options, 1. You can put your gun down and back away taking the chance that the burglar is going to shoot the hostage anyway and then shoot you. 2. You can take a shot at the burglar in which you can either hit the burglar, or if he moves you could end up shooting the hostage. 3. You could stand there and do nothing and the burglar could shoot you then the hostage and still escape.

In the game we want to give you all these different possibilities based on what you do…. We want to make it as fun and as unique as possible each time you play the game.”

Ok, so starting tomorrow is my last week of school.  Which means one week until my Jr. Year of Highschool is over and I start my Sr. Year. Ill have at least the month of June off school in which ill work on Project Unity as well as other projects, and things around the house, such as this week we’ve been working on redoing my room, today we painted two of my walls….. all we have left is the other two walls to paint, finishing up the windows and sanding and sealing the floors. Bout another 4 days of work I estimate. I will post pictures off my room’s progress next week once its finished.

Progress update on the game, I have bought the games domain under its official name. (No im not telling yet :D ) We will launch the website on July 4th. (Yes Independence Day) announcing the official game title, as well as having the first game-play video available after having a few failed attempts we’ve worked out the system.

We’ll post some more in-game screenshots through out the couple weeks, most likely after I’ve finished my room and have time to.

I know I said this weekend we would have a video showing off some of the features of Project Unity and we will, but it will in all likely hood not be available to view until late Sunday night CST Time.

In the meanwhile I am going to give some information about what you can expect from the game…

To start off everyone wants to know what the system specifications are going to be? Well right the plan is to be able to meet the minimum and maximum requirements of all systems, we want the game to auto adjust the quality, and the software for what hardware it needs to run efficiently. We are currently targeting Windows on our initial release with plans to release to Mac, Linux and possibly consoles later on after initial release. The plan is to release the game on Steam first then slowly increase where you can purchase/download the game from and possibly up to have a DVD/CD version of the game available.

Game play wise you will be able to switch between a first and third person view point as you wish the UI will change based on your choice so that you can have the best gaming experience based on your choice, another thing that we are planning is to launch a multiplayer game mode alongside the Singleplayer gamemode on the initial windows release.

I hope to have more information available for you soon, keep your eyes open for a video this weekend still!

Well recently I have finished my new rig that I have been building. The only thing that isnt new about it is the monitor is a 20 year old Magnavox Enhanced VGA monitor (trust me its temporary). But let me tell you, getting the PC ready after having all the parts was a pain. After putting the PC all together and booting it up for the first time, I ran into my first problem where nothing was coming up on the monitor. Ok I though maybe I didn’t plug in the monitor or something, so I check all the connections inside and outside the computer, and decided to do a reboot…. Well after doing the reboot still had the same problem nothing would display on the monitor, at this point im wonder ok… is one of my parts bad because some of them are refurbished parts….

I spent hours going over parts, checking them all making sure everything was plugged in and still, NOTHING. So I decided ill reset the BIOS on the motherboard, so i pulled open my case again and pulled the little plug in it that would reset the BIOS, after waiting a few minutes I gave it another go, YAY I got something to display, I was so happy until I got to the Windows 7 loading screen…. I lost my display again… So i rebooted and again went back to having no display, so I spent hours upon hours of going over the BIOS settings. Still nothing, I talked to some guys I new, they thought that maybe I need to reinstall Windows 7 because the HDD that I had I had been using with other hardware in my brothers PC while finishing my rig. So after backing up my stuff, I reinstall 7. Got it to go to the load screen again and again it crashed… I said to the guys well maybe I need to update the BIOS? (keep in mind I said this before redoing 7) The response I got was “no no no, that can’t be it at all”. So…… I went ahead and updated the BIOS, and guess what, everything has worked fine and dandy since then. So i’ve been working on getting all my stuff put back on my HDD and so on.

Now I am back to working on “Project Unity” hopefully I will soon have a website up for the game that will launch this summer with the official game title and a trailer!

This last weekend started Thursday for me, my mom left Thursday afternoon for a Womans retreat, leaving my dad and my two younger brothers to do whatever. We played some World of Warcraft, watched some Battlestar Galactica, The Duke (John Wayne) movie, and some other good movies and TV shows like Stargate Universe. Friday night I worked until 5:30ish PM and then came home to play some WoW with my Dad and watch Stargate Universe.

Today is the last day of spring break for me… I start school back up tomorrow morning, and while maybe some of my future plans are going to be pushed off for a little while new plans are forming, and it looks like this summer I might shoot a Music video for a friend of mine.

Well hello everyone, this last weekend was of course Easter Weekend and I didnt do a weekend post. So here is my post from last weekend.

Saturday I worked all morning, played WoW in the evening. Not to much work got done. Sunday, played WoW all day for the most part, did get some design work done, and Sunday night my family and I watched “The Passion of the Christ” a great movie, puts Easter into a whole new perspective. This week works been slow, but I hope to pick up on it soon!

Thats it for now, ill post more later on.

i often wonder whether or not anyone comes to my site. Or reads what i post. But i know God has me going in a entertainment ministry of some sort. The details i am still working out with God. I want to thank those who have supported me in all my endeavors, and those who have stuck with me when i have fallen, and helped me get back up and move on again.
